David Knight: Discusses Free CPS Legal Aid Video Educational Series






David Knight interviews Dwight Mitchell of FPF (Family Preservation Foundation) regarding their free CPS (Child Protection Services) legal aid video educational series for parents. The number one priority of FPF is to keep children out of the failing foster care system and with their families whenever possible.

Approximately 2/3 of the parents go through the entire CPS court process without legal representation. As reported by the Minnesota judiciary, approximately 5,000 of the 7,500 annual new cases are not represented by legal counsel.

The videos educate the viewer on their legal rights, the CPS process, CPS timeline, working with their attorney and/or working Pro Se to name a few topics. This will allow the viewer to better understand their rights and options while involved with CPS.

Family Preservation Foundation had it's first court appearance in their federal lawsuit against Minnesota Department of Health Human Services.

NBC interviews the organizations founder Dwight Mitchell and Maraliz James, a parent who the foundation help win her case against Minnesota Child Protection Services.

Approximately 200 Minnesota parents gathered in support of a civil-rights lawsuit that claims Child Protection Services' laws in Minnesota are similar to kidnapping and should not be legal.

Family Preservation Foundation and their parent rights group "Stop Child Protection Services from Legally Kidnapping Children" accuses the current law of treating parents like criminals and harming children more than it helps.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - Hundreds of people turned out at federal court in St. Paul Tuesday morning to push for an overhaul of Minnesota child protection laws.

Family Preservation Foundation and their parent rights group "Stop Child Protection Services from Legally Kidnapping Children" accuses the current law of treating parents like criminals and harming children more than it helps.

The lawsuit asks for a jury trial to prove Minnesota child protection law is unconstitutional and over-reaching.

Judge sides with Minnesota mom Amanda Weber after months-long battle with Child Protection Services (CPS). The founder of the organization Dwight Mitchell is pleased with the Judges ruling, but the fight against CPS is far from over.

In fact, it’s just the beginning for the Family Preservation Foundation after a four-month battle that founder Dwight Mitchell says never should have happened. Now, he’s fighting for change, hoping it starts with the case of Amanda Weber.

After 4-months of legal battle, Family Preservation Foundation won its inaugural trial against Minnesota Child Protection Services on September 11, 2018 when the judge returned Amanda Weber’s son after removing him from her care when he was 10-months old based on disinformation.

Family Preservation Foundation is a public interest legal aid organization dedicated to the idea of rescuing children from unwarranted and unconstitutional seizure, forced parental separation, family preservation, family first ideology, and restoring the respect for children’s rights on the constitutionality of the preservation of the family unit.

Family Preservation Foundation’s celebrates inaugural trial case win when Judge returns wrongly-taken son from innocent mother Amanda Weber.

Seventh Judicial Court Judge Leonard Weiler sent Amanda Weber’s 1-year-old son back into her arms, after dismissing false charges of medical neglect against the Little Falls, Minnesota, mother after 4-months of separation. The Judge ruled that disinformation had been used to as it relates to the allegations against Ms. Weber.

Dwight Mitchell, Executive Director and founder of Family Preservation Foundation, along with the organization’s attorney Erick Kaardal and parent representatives are extremely pleased with the outcome.

A long overdue justice has been realized.
